Like a champion, he takes the blows,
And they keep on coming,
left, right, uppercut, and…
(Commentator) “Ohhh, that was dirty, but LIFE
hasn’t blown his whistle!”
..punch-drunk, reeling, but he’ll not lie
down for a TKO –
never give the schadenfreude crowd
their satisfaction
I love a good boxing poem and this one is a knockout (boom, boom :). I particularly like the
“Ohhh, that was dirty, but LIFE
hasn’t blown his whistle!”
– reminds me of that Bill Gates thing that Adeeyoyo posted recently for kids these days 😉 about how life isn’t fair, get used to it. Good one bb.
Ha, ha – very punny, Ms Bryden. Thanks 😉
I felt that one 🙂 Not to stay down but keep coming back, that’s all one can do — and hopefully not get punch-drunk.
The tragedy of Wales.
I get tears in the eyes seeing how some treat our fellow species. Sometimes I think the latter are just getting fed up waiting.
Ha, ha – thanks, Jan – yes, that is all that one can do – some just seem to cop it worse than others – resilience is a gift.
re the whales – one wonders if they’ll be around in 100 years (perhaps they will and we won’t)
Sorry all you Welsh people, I meant whales – no Freudian slip.
rocky part I, II, and III lol…great poem!!
ha, ha, Eva – and the bad sequels just keep on coming 😀 – love your comment
Love that schadenfreude crowd, BB
Thanks, Kate 😉 peculiar things, us humans
Love it. It’s such a great analogy for life. I had to look up schadenfreude, but now I have another word for my arsenal! It’s truly amazing how many people take delight in other people’s misfortune. It makes me worry for the human race.
Thanks, Coin & Feather. It’s quite fascinating that there’s a single word for it in German but not in English.
Amazing how schadenfreude pops up everywhere.
It does, doesn’t it, Jamie – human nature has many shades
Absolutely yes! Never!
Haha – Yes! Thanks 😀
