Weekly Photo Challenge: Flowers

It’s winter in Sydney, so I’m not feeling inspired to go on a photographic flower hunt or think beyond this postaweek’s literal theme, so here are a few I took last spring in the Sydney Botanic Gardens

Herb Garden Sundial

  1. Gorgeous photos. What you call Kangaroo’s Paw is known in Europe as Montbretia, or crocosmia. It is a wonderful plant, tolerant of poor soil, shade, sun and neglect.

  2. Loving the sundial, (would they miss it? .. πŸ˜‰ ) .. and loved all the photo’s bb, without the rainbow colours of flowers and such, where would we be?.. greened off I think. xPenx

  3. Every time I go to the Botanical Gardens I feel how lucky we are in Sydney to have it. It’s like a wonderland. The colours, the setting, the vibe of it. Guaranteed to lift the gloomiest of moods. I still ride on that little train that runs through it and pose for the Japanese tourists. It’s fun. Your photos are gorgeous. I love the sundial too as well as those astounding tulips!!!

    • I love that you still ride that train!! And pose for Japanese tourists – ha,ha – your inner child is alive and well which is just wonderful. Thanks, Selma πŸ™‚ It’s one of my favourite places in the city (specially the Succulent Garden).

    • Thanks for these lovely comments, Gabrielle πŸ™‚ The birds were going crazy outside at sunrise this morning, so I think spring is definitly heading our way now – yaaay!

    • Thanks, Adee πŸ˜€ ranunculus are such cheerful little flowers, aren’t they? I’m sure you’re looking forward to spring too – hope your recuperation is moving along nicely
