  1. Some things become habits which we continue, unaware that we are doing so. The thing is to be aware of everything we do so that we can change. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the whole world changed, got rid of the greed and selfishness and became considerate of others.

    • You are absolutely right about habits, Adeeyoyo. It would be good if the world changed for permanent good but unfortunately I don’t think it’s going to happen – one rotten system often just replaces another. I think the key, as I know you appreciate, is not to throw up our hands and say that there is nothing we can do about it at an individual level

    • I grew up in that system, John, and was just as complacent as so many others about attempting to bring about change in what is a very complex society – ignorant of and blind to many of the injustices for a very long time. What emerged from the TRC really opened my eyes to the depths of it. I’m still no activist but am much more conscious of these things now.

  2. I do feel a hint of change in the air but I do wonder if we will ever be open enough as a society to accept people without prejudice. It would almost be like a miracle if it happened. Maybe the secret is to never give up and to keep gently striving for change. Hope does spring unexpectedly.

  3. As always, BB, stunning and full of power. The idea of creating posssibility for ourselves, and thus for the planet, as something in opposition to repeating the past – I like this very much.

    • Thank you, Monica – one foot in front of the other gets us to a different place. The Deepak Chopra quote resonates with me on a macro and micro level – I read it every morning to stop myself from procrastinating 🙂

      • That’s so wise, Bluebee. Little steps, one after the other, can get us to big places. Definitely a quote worth reading every day. I saw a card recently, bought it and stuck it up in my kitchen. From an unknown sage, it says, “What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?”
