Have had a foot injury since the end of November
so am in hope that I will be back in my golf shoes (actually, any normal shoes would be good)
and walking the golf course again in the not-too-distant future
Good luck to you on that one. I injured my foot years ago and it never healed right. I still feel it at times. Thank God for ibuprofen. On rare occasions, it is my savior still.
I don’t play golf but your picture does remind me I’ve been meaning to start wearing golf shoes in order to get more sympathy. People will ask why I’m wearing golf shoes if I’m not at the golf course and I’ll tell them the shoes were the only golf equipment I could afford.
Thanks, Gabe. You’re right – ouch! (actually double-ouch, although the right’s not as bad as the left) Seems my feet have gone toes up from too much walking in the wrong shoes.
I think they are going to be somebody else’s cute little golf shoes soon, Gilly, and I’ll be back to the clodhopping clown golf shoes 🙂 but I don’t care as long as I can walk the course in comfort, that’s all that matters. Thx
Thanks, Jan – am getting around the course in a cart at the moment (which is anathema), but I should probably be grateful that I can at least do that 🙂
I do hope you recover and get back to your love. I had foot surgery three years ago and it took a long while to heal… I’m doing much better now and I know you will too. 🙂
Thanks, Elizabeth – I’d be interested to know what the surgery was for (of course, will understand if you don’t want to share this!) I am very glad to hear that you are doing well after surgery because there are a lot of horror stories out there. I have been advised against surgery – a sports doctor I’ve seen seems to think it will resolve in time with conservative treatment and a change in footwear etc, but I have to be patient (not my strong point).
Thanks, Kate – apparently this problem is common in women because of the shoes some of us choose to wear at certain times of our lives – a friend’s reaction to this was, “Who would’ve thought – Death by Prada!” 😀 (not that I’ve ever worn Prada, mind you)
Hey, they’re pretty fancy shoes. They look a bit like spats from the roaring 20s. You must look pretty cool on the green with those. I hope you recover from your injury soon.
Thanks, Selma – I doubt whether I’ll be wearing them again though. A pair of high-heeled boots (which I’ve had for ages) did my feet in at the end of November and the podiatrist has told me that I can forget about wearing high shoes again (which doesn’t worry me because I don’t often do so), but that also I’ll need to buy shoes that are wider in the toe area (he actually mentioned “men’s shoes” – eek). Apparently we should buy bigger shoe sizes as we get older instead of trying to squeeze them ugly-sister style into the same size we’ve worn all our adult lives 🙂 And apparently what’s happened to my feet is very common in women and sportspeople, but I’ve never heard of it!
Hope you will be healing soon. I have a friend that is is in a similar situation. Feet are important and need to be in good working order. Best to you!
Take care. Even a small injury can really alter a person’s routine and have a cascading effect on their general health. Hope you bend quickly and well, so you get out there, photographing, waxing poetical, and just generally “puttering” around. 🙂
Thanks, Nicola – it has revealed the problem, but there’s debate as to whether it requires surgery or not – ho hum – will have to wait to see the specialist later this month – thx for your wishes 🙂
Bluebee, you have made golf shoes into a work of art. Sorry to hear about the feet – they’re important. I agree with your sports doctor – surgery, no; patience and good shoes, yes. Massaging the feet with sesame oil before bed is soothing and lets them know you care.
It’s so wonderful to see you back, Monica 😀 Thanks for your good wishes.
Unfortunately nerve problems are alleviated only by surgery in some cases, but the surgery is not always successful. It’s not an exciting prospect, that’s for sure
Thank you for your concern, Monica – I will do. And I may do a post about it later this year if I think my experiences will help others with this problem.
Hope your healing progresses well…take care!
Thanks, Charles 🙂
Hope so, BB!
Thanks, Nancy – mispent stilletoed youth catching up with me 🙂
Good luck to you on that one. I injured my foot years ago and it never healed right. I still feel it at times. Thank God for ibuprofen. On rare occasions, it is my savior still.
Thanks Orples – Ibuprofen doesn’t even make a dent in it, unfortunately

Thanks, TGG – I think you’ll have a hard time garnering any sympathy, golf or no, given that wonderful globetrotting life you lead 🙂
Great Interpretation bluebee for this week theme 🙂

Thanks, Jake
Ouch! Hope your foot improves soon and you can get back out there 🙂
Thanks, Gabe. You’re right – ouch! (actually double-ouch, although the right’s not as bad as the left) Seems my feet have gone toes up from too much walking in the wrong shoes.
Cute little golf shoes too!

great shoes – sending lots of good wishes for your recovery !
Thanks for the good wishes, Nicola 🙂
Now that’s the cutest pair of golf shoes I’ve ever seen
I do love them, Nursemyra, but I’m not sure that I’ll be able to wear them again. Looks like I’m heading for the men’s golf shoe department in future…
Nice shoes! Hope you’ll soon be on course 🙂
Thanks, Jan – am getting around the course in a cart at the moment (which is anathema), but I should probably be grateful that I can at least do that 🙂

That’s a good hope BB. I share it for you.
Snazzy golf shoes, by the way!
John
Thanks, John – a bit of an inward looking post for this week, but that’s how it goes sometimes! 😀
I can relate and I commiserate… I hope it heals well and soon, Bb.
Thanks, Adee – you are an incredibly patient patient and I look forward to that day when we’ll see that good-news post from you 😀
Good luck with getting back in your shoes!
Thanks, Gingerbreadcafe, and for dropping by 🙂
I can imagine you must miss those wonderful rambles on the golf course, BB: hope you’re back in those shoes very soon.
Thanks, Kate – apparently this problem is common in women because of the shoes some of us choose to wear at certain times of our lives – a friend’s reaction to this was, “Who would’ve thought – Death by Prada!” 😀 (not that I’ve ever worn Prada, mind you)

Thanks, Northern Narratives 🙂

Thanks, Tilly 😀 A bit of a left-fielder, this one

Thanks, Renee – hope your friend is doing well 🙂

Thanks, Jake – I see you have started your own comp 🙂
Hi, hope the MRI scans produce something positive moving forward 🙂
Thanks, Nicola – it has revealed the problem, but there’s debate as to whether it requires surgery or not – ho hum – will have to wait to see the specialist later this month – thx for your wishes 🙂
Smart pair of shoes and do hope they get some exercise soon!
Thanks, Patti – I bought them in your corner of the world and do hope I’ll be able to wear them again 🙂

Please keep us posted on what the specialist has to say. My fingers are crossed for steady improvement.

I Pray you’re better soon!
I know what it’s like to not be able to wear shoes…well One shoe 😉
Right Ankle Surgery here 😕
God Bless ♥
Thank you – the feet are very tricky and complicated, aren’t they? Hope you have healed well and are back in both shoes 🙂
Thank You!!
Yup, in two shoes…though that right one is still tricky 😉
And I hope you’ll be in your Golf Shoes SOON!!!
Best of all to you and to your foot. Hope the golf comes into place soon. The photo is terrific!
Thanks, Elaine – it’s a very long road back to the golf course for me
I wish you all the very best with your feet. For some reason, I hadn’t realized – so sorry. Thinking of you!
Thank you so much, Julie – and I of you for this week 🙂
