I ask scribbly gum moths:
Why this graffiti on trees?
“Mind your own business,
they’re just doodles, if you please”
I ask a plodding snail:
Why the squiggles on the path?
“There ain’t nothing in it –
I just do it for a laugh”
I ask the sly hyena:
Why the tunnels ‘neath the trail?
“Well! Installation art’s
not only for the snail!”
I ask the bower bird:
Why that hoard of shining bling?
“Oh, poppet, it’s no mystery
objets d’art are my thing”
I ask the primping zebra:
What’s with the barcode?
“Poor darling, don’t you know?
Stripes are back in vogue”
But, you know, I don’t believe them –
It’s a vast conspiracy
It’s clear that they are sending
secret messages to me…

I love it! Perfect to pair with that pic!
Thanks, Nancy 😉
I love this! I’m going to share it with my Facebook friends.
Glad you enjoyed it, Kathy.
Snails are good
Do you eat them?
Can’t catch the blighters too quick!
😀
When I think how much slime that could generate … 🙂
Perfect pairing. I really admire that secret messages rhyme.
Oooh, the slime doesn’t bear thinking about 😯 Thanks, Col.
Snails ARE good, and this must be one of the best in the Unexpected series.Has that one finished? – if it has, you shoulda won! Remind me: where is this mall? I believe I see it quite often on nightly news …
Thanks, M. R. The mall is Pitt Street Mall in Sydney
SHIT! – really? Senility must have overtaken me. It doesn’t LOOK like Pitt St Mall. 😦
I guess this must be because I’m never there at night … But I still feel like a total dickhead. Sighh …
Maybe the snail threw you off 🙂
No … the trees. I don’t recall trees growing in the middle of PSM! Am I mad, in a coma, or back in time? 😉
I think you need to get out more, lol 😀
