We’ve had this one before, and I am studying for an exam, so a re-post this week. For more entries to this week’s WPC, see The Daily Post.
Between
is the breath between
life and death,
the laughter between
the light and hereafter,
the whispers
between love and fractures.
Between
the glass reflections
float words consequential,
some, kind, reverential,
others, profane and mean,
drifting down, unseen,
on matchstick people
and their matchbox lives
us
breathing it in
like asbestos
Take care
with the words
between

a great poem bb – hope the exam goes well
Thanks, Gabe. It’s done. Now I can get around to publishing my poetry book and a bit of writing π
Oh, hurray, a Bluebee poem as stunning as the photograph. Words cutting like asbestos, words always consequential, people as fragile, brittle, incendiary as matchsticks. You have made every word count. I have been there, too, in the breath between life and death. Very special.
“people as fragile, brittle, incendiary as matchsticks.” Love this, Monica π
So nice of you, BB – but you said it with one word.
Excellent ! Both image and verse.
Thanks π
