Wouldn’t it be lovely if society reverted to having streets of artisan food manufacturers and a slower way of life? These are the areas in Japan we were drawn to.
Oh, is it …? I’ve advised in advance, I believe. This is IT, now – the one and only. I’m leaving a mere shell of the original in case of people looking me up by name …
Thanks, Patti. I’ve wanted to go to Japan all my life and finally got to do it last year at the age of 51. Now I can’t wait to go back – it’s fascinating on so many levels.
We’re off to Scandinavia in August to visit family that emigrated there. Israel is also fascinating and very beautiful in a unique way. I went there a couple of decades ago on a diving trip.
Cool shot! I enjoy watching bakers and noodle makers at work.
There’s something cathartic in it. Thanks, Nancy.
I can almost smell a warm yeasty aroma….

Yes 🙂 And the way the Japanese present food is marvellous – the food basements in the department stores are an exercise in self-restraint. 😀
