Wouldn’t it be lovely if society reverted to having streets of artisan food manufacturers and a slower way of life? These are the areas in Japan we were drawn to.

Thanks, Patti. I’ve wanted to go to Japan all my life and finally got to do it last year at the age of 51. Now I can’t wait to go back – it’s fascinating on so many levels.
It’s on my very long list of places to visit! Where’s your next “big” trip? I think mine will be Israel.
We’re off to Scandinavia in August to visit family that emigrated there. Israel is also fascinating and very beautiful in a unique way. I went there a couple of decades ago on a diving trip.
