This is a page from one of my most treasured books: The Annotated Ultimate Alphabet by Mike Wilks. The page contains over 1000 things that begin with the letter S, including the Semaphore alphabet.
See what you can find.

Oh my…guess I’ll need to put that pot of coffee on. 🙂 Thanks for the challenge.
Enjoy, Charles. 😄
I love abecedarian books and this is a super duper one!
Hours of fun poring over this one, Cynthia. 🙂
I saw a ‘snake’ straight away (maybe because I’m always looking for them when I go for a walk) 😉 What a great picture for the challenge 😀
Are you available for bush walk hire (walking in the front, of course!)? 😀
Pingback: Alphabet: Side Street 2 | Chris Breebaart Photography / What's (in) the picture?
A spoonbill! And a scary skeleton.
Only about 1300 more to go, Nancy, haha.
looks familiar 😉 I’m not very good at detail hahaha – snare drum …
😉 What’s a snare drum? Sounds like the work of a serial killer… 😀
hahaha it’s what is in the picture 😅 a side drum in the drumming ensemble 😉
Haha – you have much to teach us, Gabe.
What an amazing book, and what a great choice for the theme!
Of course, the skeleton and ship stand out, and is that a Studebaker I see? And a sitar? (No, I don’t mean the guy at the desk, though he might be a sleeper.)
Ha, I’m sure you would be able to identify MANY of the objects, Col! It is an amazing book (and the sleeping sitter is the artist – he’s somewhere in every picture).
Is the artist the sitter or the skeleton?
Some of the items have me g-essing to S tablish how to put an S to them!
I love books like these and this one is wonderful. Is that Satan in a sling sitting on a stool?
*off to look for Satan in a sling sitting on a stool*
Ha – you’re right! And here I was thinking that you were misleading me and getting your own back on the “where am I?” photo 🙂
I would never be misleading when it comes to proving how clever I am.
Haha
