I carry my little point-and-shoot digital camera for social occasions but prefer not to use the flash, so often use the high sensitivity settings but without a tripod. This makes for many unfocused photographs, but sometimes to surprising effect – 😀

In that second photo, I almost thought the round light fixture (or whatever that is) was the moon.
It does look a bit like that – lots of reflections – thanks tmso
I love them, the first looks multi dimensional!
Thanks, Gilly – all the lights reflecting
Does provide an interesting effect…I also rarely use a flash.
It just washes things out unless you have all the right equipment – thanks, Charles
All great shots! 😉
Thanks, Elizabeth 🙂
nice view. great shot
It’s a wonderful view from up there, Amar. Thanks 🙂
The first one completely looks like a UFO. The second one looks like the trail left by the UFO. Is there something you’re not telling us, Bluebee? *insert theme song from ‘Close Encounters Of The Third Kind’ here*
Hahaha – love your imagination, Selma 😀
That first one looks like an alien invasion. Good one.
I think the locals thought we were the alien invasion, Tilly 😀
I really love these BB – what is that in the first one – so out of this world
Thanks, Jo – it’s actually the centerpiece of the bar – you can see a normal picture of it here
I love the “flying saucer” in the first . . . stellar Sci Fi shot, BB
Thanks, Nancy. It certainly did feel like another world up there 😀
utterly wonderful – the alien visitors thought they could sneek in for a quick pick-me-up
Exactly, Monica 😀 We were definitely the aliens, haha
Awesome photos – especially love the UFO in the first one. So you were standing on the ‘Top of the Standard Bar’ – hehe – how much had you drunk 😉
hehe – just one – and it blew our drinks budget for the night – very sobering prices, indeed 😀 Thanks, Gabe
wow – they’re great
Thanks, Nursemyra 🙂
I especially like the second shot, with red exit light and the moon in the sky. Two dimensions are neat. great job.

Thanks, Anne – the ‘moon’ is actually the reflection of a chandelier 🙂
I love it! There is something very Empire State about these….
Thanks, Kate – was very much in a New York State of mind, then 🙂 Seems like a lifetime ago now…
It’s an alien invasion!
haha – yes, it certainly looks that way – Thanks, Jan 🙂
That first one looks like it’s straight out of a hollywood alien movie!
We did feel a bit like Hollywood extras (not stars :-)) up there 🙂
