for whom the world is brilliantly
rendered sharp in black and white,
no mitigation, just wrong and right,
constrasts clear, no shades of grey,
no dawn nor dusk, only night and day.
But life will prove that it’s not so
and force you, like me, to let it go.
Very powerful poem.
Thank you, Neutral Universe. bb
Life tends to prove everything has a differing slant. Loved this,bb, it flowed into my mind. xx
Thanks, Pen. Glad you enjoyed it. bb
The harsher judgments of youth flow more kindly with advancing age — perhaps? Beautiful poem and always thought-provoking.
That’s it, Monica – there are some benefits to ageing, I guess :-D. Thanks. bb
This is really good.
Life indeed is rarely just black and white.
Personally the variety of colours for me is a good thing.
It means we have many different options and road that can be taken
Thanks, Artswebshow – I agree with you about the variety of colours – for some, they are there from a young age, but for others, it takes some hammering by life before they become visible đŸ˜€
Love the poem – rhythm and rhyme and topic đŸ™‚ My mum was such a black and white thinker (never changed over time), but I prefer all the shades between.
Thanks, Gabrielle đŸ˜€ I prefer the shades between, too – makes for greater tolerance (and more interesting debate!). bb
Moving words bb, nicely done. I do sometimes wish colorless leaders would be less gray đŸ™‚
ha, ha – yes, Jan, I agree about the leaders. Thanks for your comments. bb
A very wise poem, Bluebee….Age teaches that things are more gray, including the hair.
Lady Nyo
ha ha – yes, Lady Nyo đŸ˜€
Great poem, Blubee: Experience is an odd thing, isn’t it? We step over a divide and no amount of explaining can bring someone to the place we are.
Thanks, Kate. That’s it – we’ve all got to make our own mistakes to learn, don’t we?!
something i try to do so in myself as well. thank u for these words.
Glad you found something here to relate to, Sana. Thanks for stopping by. bb
couldn’t luv that sig better “bb” awesome
đŸ˜€ Thanks, Sana
I wonder if idealism is just for the young – we (most of us) seem to lose it as we age? And is that a good thing, I wonder…
It seems to be that way, Adeeyoyo
Good point, well made!
Thanks, Pseu
nice, bluebee. we see reflections of ourselves in everyone we meet, don’t we? sometimes we like what we see, sometimes we don’t. thanks for all your recent comments. I’ve been meaning to get over here and thank you for some time. keep writing. I’ll do the same.
That’s for sure, sunlightonawall. Thanks for stopping by đŸ™‚
