I like to do things backwards, don’t ask me why.
When I read a print newspaper (yes, some of us still do), I often start at the back page and work my way forward. Same with magazines. I can’t help it. (Although, I haven’t yet acquired that peculiar habit of reading the end of a book first. Horrors!).
Anyhow, I don’t like the thought of taking a blog break without announcing it upfront, but, somehow, my unintended break got away with me. So I should have told you that I was taking a blog break. But I didn’t. So now you know.
I’m back from behind.
As if you’ve noticed.
I hope you enjoyed your blog break, BB. There’s always so much out there to enjoy in the world, isn’t there? Hope you enjoyed your time growing plants and taking care of them. As for reading magazines backwards, I used to do a lot when I lived in Malaysia – often the horoscope section was on the last pages of numerous magazines I read back there, and that fascinates me so I look at the back pages first and take it from there 🙂
There is so much to do and see, Mabel. And then there’s work 😦 and studies and housework, etc. Not enough time for everything, unfortunately.
Some of us did. The old and snarky ones, anyway.
I love old and snarky. 🙂
Ta ! (Idiot.)
😄
Welcome back! And I love you doing things backwards too. 🙂
Thanks, Dor. 🙂
“When I buy a new book, I read the last page first. That way, in case I die before I finish, I know how it ends. That, my friend, is a dark side.” – Harry Burns, When Harry Met Sally
Sorry. I couldn’t help it. 😀
Glad you had a good break. Glad you’re back. 🙂
lol! You are a real WHMS tragic, MOSY.
Sometimes being a bit backwards gives us a better perspective. After all hindsight is 20/20!
Welcome back!
Ways of seeing 🙂 Thanks, Nancy.
Hmm…is that where the phrase “better late than never…” comes from? 🙂 Glad you’re back.
Yes, that is true, Charles, haha.
Welcome back! Hope the break was a fruitful one 🙂
I too tend to read newspapers and magazines from back to front … and I normally read the ending of a book well before I actually get there. It rarely makes sense until I’ve read the rest of the story, but it’s a compulsion 🙂
So I’m not alone 🙂
We noticed! Glad you’re back!
Hello Monica. 😀
I was wonderin’ where you were…welcome back to the madness….
Hello Cynthia. I’ve been enjoying your book immensely. 🙂
I was wondering where you were!! 🙂 –Patti
Hi Patti – if I had a bumper sticker for my car, it would say “I’d rather be writing”. Unfortunately, real life gets in the way. 🙂
So true, BB! I’m in the middle of a new writing project and hate being pulled away by other responsibilities. But sometimes in those moments when I’m doing something else, the ideas are still percolating in my mind…I totally understand your love of writing!–Patti
When beginning reading your post I thought “I wonder if she reads books backwards too?” but then I realised two things;
– you said you didn’t; and
– if I read your post from end to beginning then I would likely have known that before I formed the question
Actually I have just realised a third thing … I require a little more caffeine 😉
Nice to see you again.
🙂 haha – yes. And caffeine does help.
Geoff, have you sold your black and white Starfield print of the Milky Way that you exhibited in Canberra?
Hi, the short answer is ‘no’ but that’s only because I never got the B&W version printed up 😉
I did get the colour version printed for last year’s show (and it sold). I can easily arrange to have the B&W printed for you if you’re interested. Drop me an email at geoffrey@geoffreydunn.com.au with your size requirements and we’ll take it from there. Framing can be arranged too. Cool 🙂
We noticed 😦
Hallo, Tilly 😀
Helloooo!
